Sasha has always loved working with people and collaborating on their goals. Prior to getting a counseling degree, Sasha worked in government, small businesses, and non-profit organizations. She conducted research at a think-tank in DC and worked at a safe house for survivors of sexual trafficking. She moved to Williamsburg 15 years ago and has been involved in the community since then. A difficult experience with perinatal mental health challenges led Sasha to focus on counseling. She returned to school to get a master's degree. While in graduate school, Sasha worked as the Williamsburg Coordinator for Postpartum Support Virginia.
Sasha's style is warm and down-to-earth. She holds space for the complexities in life. Sasha is passionate about providing a supportive space for clients to process. You are an individual; your care should be individualized to integrate your knowledge and wisdom to find new ways forward. Sasha focuses on helping you to process your experiences and figure out what works well for you. Sasha helps clients to "zoom out" to see the present moment in the context of their past and then to frame their future around the values that matter to them.
Sasha works with adults 18-100+ and teenagers 14+ who are experiencing mental health challenges, especially during major life transitions. These transitions include pregnancy, parenting in new stages, infertility, grief/loss, professional changes, caregiving, new medical diagnoses, and end-of-life issues. Sasha enjoys working with clients with ADHD and/or Autistic clients. Her practice is neurodiversity-affirming and inclusive. If you have asked yourself existential questions recently about identity, authenticity, life, death, and purpose - Sasha may be a good fit for you.
Sasha is from the Midwest but has lived in Williamsburg for over 15 years. She enjoys reading, learning, memes, thoughtful conversations, nerdy hobbies, random research, and dance parties in the living room with her kids. Sasha hopes to create a place where you can talk, laugh, cry, and be yourself.
