Jenn’s personal struggle seeking mental health support for her neurodiverse child led her to become the counselor she wished she had been able to find. She is a Licensed Master of Social Work in Virginia, Supervisee of Social Work in Virginia, and is currently under supervision for Registered Play Therapist certification.

Jenn specializes in childhood mental health and social-emotional development with children ages 0-10, which can include children struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, school-related issues, post-COVID adjustment, or working through complex traumas. She uses a play-based style that emphasizes neurobiology and nervous system regulation. By utilizing a mix of play therapy, she can provide strengths-based intervention to support children in understanding and communicating their feelings. She has experience in psychiatric and medical hospitals, schools, and community-based settings. Her counseling philosophy is summarized by Stephen Porges’s quote, “Feeling safe is the treatment, and creating safety is the work.”

Jenn grew up in Plymouth, Massachusetts, and has also lived in Guam, Alaska, and Washington. She is a mother to three boys, two dogs, and many plants. She enjoys gardening, reading, playing video games, and sleeping when she can!
